NEW FANATIC FALCON 99 BY GONZALO

Here in Argy with the termics kicking in and manage to try the new 99 that got here last week...unfortunetly i dont have my boards yet, but i manage to test the new 99 from a friend that just bought it, against my 111 from last year.

The first day i sailed it with 7.0. I was hitting 32 kts most of the time on my 111 , i was not fully powered and i was tiny bit faster than a very fast guy down here.
I swap to the 99 that was on a 32 talon 10%, a fin that is supposed to me good in really strong and choppy water. I increased my speed by 2 kts and my friend could not hold my speed any more.
The trim was much nicer and the board is higher below the mast base and front foot so the choppy water was not an issue any more. The wind was not very strong..i would be racing on the 113 and 7.8 for sure or even bigger so i was very surprised that even in those conditions with that sort of fin the 99 was performing better than my 111 that was very fast this year.
Something that surprised me was that i could point higher with the 99 than the 111...amazing feeling...
The next day i went with 7.8 and 121 and the wind was only 13-15 kts. My mate came out again and even in this conditions that i was just powered the 99 was faster than my 121. I was hitting 30 kts on my 121 feeling powered up and when i jumped on the 99 feeling just powered i hit 30.9...the wind had increased so i went again with th 121 and couldn't pass the 30 kts..again on the 99 i got to 31 kts..amazing that in those conditions that i would be competing on 7.8 or 8.6 with big board already on the 99 you can be so efficient...the 99 had a talon 34 95%...not great,...

Well just wanted to post this report...looking forward to get all my new boards!! shame i am so far away!!

MATTEO IACHINO CHALLENGER F2

A presto!

Anders Bringdal 47 knot 500m

Evening Report :
The wind sure did blow today, apparently it reached up to 55 knots at times; but it was a tough day out there.
The wind was pretty gusty, and there was some nasty chop towards the end of the run.
There were no great speeds recorded from the kiters today, but Anders Bringdal made the most of it on a windsurfer and recorded a very respectable 47 knot 500m (new Swedish record – still to be ratified) and 50 knot peak, which is extremely rare in windsurfing.
Wolfram Reiners set a new German record of 46 knots (still to be ratified) on his very first run.
There were a few spills due to the chop and gusts/lulls; but luckily none were serious.
I also had a skirmish with the canal bank when I sailed into a bad lull and suddenly headed up.
The wind will be a bit lighter tomorrow which might improve the speeds if it’s steadier, and there should be less chop.

Anders Bringdal
